Facebook is to me a huge mess but as so many I know use it, I too have pretty much had to make a precense there. Do not bother sending me a friend request because I will ignore most anyone, but the messaging function will still work in case you want to communicate over Facebook. If you are not already on Facebook I congratulate you. Also on Facebook.
